Meet Our Team

Dr. Alan Bergquist

CEO, Founder

Dr. Bergquist founded Chiropractic Compliance Solutions, LLC in 2011 and continues to serve as the CEO and Director of Business Development.

After building a successful practice in NE South Dakota, and then expanding to multiple clinics in SD, MN, and IA, Dr. Bergquist turned his focus towards coaching and consulting other doctors to build successful businesses. He realized early on in that process that if doctors weren't following the rules of the game that any success would be temporary so became certified as a Medical Compliance Specialist, a Certified Professional Compliance Officer, and a Certified Professional Coder.

Since that time Dr. Bergquist has become an expert on all aspects of documentation, coding, and compliance, as well as on Revenue Cycle Management, specifically related to chiropractic.

Dr. Bergquist lives on Big Stone Lake in NE South Dakota with his wife Rachelle and their daughters.

Brandy Brimhall

Director of Compliance Services

Brandy has worked in chiropractic since 1999. She has had the roles of Chiropractic Assistant at the front desk, table-side, x-ray, billing and collections and Office Manager for single and multiple practices. Brandy has also been a professional billing agent and claims manager in a chiropractic billing service. She began traveling in 2006 to speak at seminars and to work privately with practices focused on team training, practice systems, coding, billing, documentation and accounts receivable. She has presented at events around the country including for the Parker College of Chiropractic.

She has received professional certification from the AAPC as a Certified Professional Coder, a Certified Professional Compliance Officer and a Certified Professional Medical Auditor; from the Practice Management Institute (PMI) as a Certified Medical Compliance Officer and from the ChiroCode Institute as a ChiroCode Certified Chiropractic Professional Coder.

Brandy also serves as the Director of Education for the ChiroCode Institute.

Brandy resides in Parker, Colorado with her twins.

Jeff Smith

Director of Revenue Cycle Management Services

Jeff has been involved in the chiropractic profession since 1993 when he became the Clinic Administrator for a multi-clinic practice. Following that he was the Executive Director for a managed care organization. In 2013, wanting to utilize his knowledge and experience to help chiropractors develop successful practices, he started a chiropractic consulting business. With over 20 years of experience in the chiropractic profession, both in clinic operations and administration, he has a unique and complete understanding of the challenges chiropractic clinics face today. In 2014 he became a Medical Compliance Specialist with Chiropractic Proficiency.

Jeff lives in South Dakota with his wife Jamie and their two dogs.

Amy Saylor

Director of Billing Operations

Amy has worked in chiropractic since 1994. She has enjoyed working with patients and helping to build great teams over the years by working in roles at the front desk, billing and collections, and Office Manager for single and multiple doctor clinics. In October 2011, she transitioned mainly to the billing side of chiropractic, and has assisted many chiropractors nationwide. Her passion is creating clear communication with patients and teams, as well as improving clinic’s time management so they can enjoy time with their family and friends.

Amy lives in Minnesota with her husband and daughter.

Dr. Evan Gwilliam

Director of Coding

Dr. Gwilliam graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic as Valediction and is a Certified Professional Coding Instructor, Medical Compliance Specialist, and Certified Professional Medical Auditor, among other things. He provides expert witness testimony, medical record audits, consulting, and online courses for health care providers. He also writes books and articles for trade journals, and is a sought after seminar speaker. He has a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, a Master’s of Business Administration, and is one of the few clinicians who became a certified ICD-10 Instructor through the AAPC.

Dr. Gwilliam also serves as the Executive Vice President of the ChiroCode Institute and FindACode. He serves as the Director of Coding for Chiropractic Compliance Solutions for his role with the ChiroCode / Chiropractic Compliance Solutions business partnership.

Nicole Arthur

Director of Client Services

As Director of Client Services, Nicole's primary role is to ensure all clients receive the service they need to stay focused on patient care, rather than spending their time trying to stay up to date on the changing statutes and laws governing the revenue cycle in chiropractic.

Nicole has worked in the chiropractic industry since 2012 after moving to Minnesota from her hometown of Cuyahoga Falls, OH. She got her start working in billing and has held leadership roles in revenue cycle management. Prior to entering the chiropractic industry, Nicole worked in sales for 4 years. Nicole studied Accounting at the University of Akron and now resides in Eden Prairie, MN.
